Do you have 20 or more employees working in your office every single day? Do they have easy access to refreshments like coffee, cocoa and tea so they can recharge throughout the workday? If not, they need a coffee brewer that works for them.

Ideal for the busy breakroom, the Keurig K-3500 commercial coffee brewer blends intuitive technology with clean lines and a modern design. With two internal water tanks, it's specifically engineered for continuous use and back-to-back brewing.

At Egyptian Workspace Partners, we believe a well-stocked breakroom and a reliable coffee brewer are key to fostering employee wellbeing and engagement, which is why we're here to help you find the best brewer for your business (and your budget).

If you're looking for an unbiased review of the Keurig K-3500, you've come to the right place. In this article, we'll address everything you need to know about this top-of-the line brewer, including its pros, cons, key features and more.

Specs of Keurig K-3500

Keurig K3500 Commercial Coffee Maker

The Keurig K-3500 coffee brewer is an updated version of the K3000SE brewing system. It’s only intended for commercial use and high-volume offices

  • Voltage - 120VAC
  • Power - 14,000 watts
  • Dimensions - 17.4" H x 18" D x 12" W
  • Weight - 35 lbs. (empty)

Key Features of Keurig K-3500

User-Friendly Interface

The Keurig K-3500 coffee brewer has an intuitive, high-resolution interface that's easy to use. The interactive touchscreen offers a clear status update for all brews, as well as multilingual brewing instructions and the ability to dispense hot water.

In addition, the K-3500 offers a strong brew option, a screensaver feature to save energy when not in use and a high altitude (>5,000 setting) to easily brew coffee at higher elevations by lowering the brewing temperature.

Dedicated Hot Water Line

Unlike other Keurig brewers, there's no need to refill the K-3500's water reservoir. Compatible with direct-waterline plumbing, the dual internal tanks deliver back-to-back, one-touch brewing of coffee, tea and hot cocoa in a minute or less.

Plus, the internal water tank is completely drainable for easy transportation and relocation. Unfortunately, the direct waterline plumbing kit is not included and must be purchased separately.

Automatic K-Cup Pod Ejection and Storage

With the Keurig K-3500, you won't have to worry about removing the empty K-cup pod and throwing it away after each use. Once brewing is completed, you can lift the handle and the pod will automatically eject into the built-in storage compartment.

Five Cup Sizes

The Keurig K-3500 commercial brewer can support up to five different cup sizes, including a brand-new brew size. The drip tray folds up to accommodate larger travel-size mugs. The five brew sizes include:

  • 4 oz.
  • 6 oz.
  • 8 oz.
  • 10 oz.
  • 12 oz.

Pros of Keurig K-3500

The K3000SE is one of Keurig's top-rated coffee brewers. Apart from being an updated version of the K3000SE, the Keurig K-3500 commercial brewer offers many of the same internal parts as its predecessor.

Additionally, the K-3500 is specifically designed for a commercial setting and built to be used multiple times a day. It's fully serviceable, meaning you'll never have to worry about the machine being out of commission because one small part is broken.

As mentioned above, the K-3500 interface is very user-friendly. Users can easily select their cup size and the strength of their brew in a matter of seconds, and the dual water tanks allow for back-to-back brewing without waiting for the machine to warm up.

There's also no need to worry about throwing the used K-cup pods away. With a built-in disposal bin, all you have to do is lift the lever and it will automatically eject (although someone will have to empty the disposal bin at some point).

Commercial UL and NSF Certified

The Keurig K-3500 is both commercial UL and NSF certified. But, what exactly do these certifications mean and why should your business even care about them? Well, there are actually quite a few reasons.

A UL commercial-certified product has been tested and verified by the global certification company UL to make sure you're getting a product that's safe and properly designed. Any fixed appliances or electrical equipment you buy should be UL-listed.

The NSF certification applies to foodservice products. When a product is NSF-certified, that means it's dishwasher safe and has passed numerous rounds of testing for safety, design, construction and performance.

Cons of Keurig K-3500

Cost of Machine

The Keurig K-3500 costs anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000, depending on the quantity of brewers you need. This price may be hard for some to swallow, but it's a worthwhile investment for any large business with employees that use it every single day.

On the other hand, the K-3500 brewer may not be worth the investment if your office has less than twenty employees, and it's definitely not worth it if only a few people drink coffee or tea throughout the day.

Required Direct Water Line

The Keurig K-3500 is compatible with direct-waterline plumbing and has two internal hot water tanks for unlimited back-to-back brewing, so you won't have to worry about refilling the water reservoir.

However, you absolutely have to run a dedicated water line because there's no other option, which can lead to additional costs. The direct waterline plumbing kit is not included and must be purchased separately.

On top of that, you'll have to pay someone to install the direct waterline. If you have someone on staff with experience doing these installations, that may be an option, but we hired a local plumber to install ours and we recommend you do the same

No Specialty Beverages

As great as the K-3500 is, it doesn't have the ability to brew specialty beverages like lattes or cappuccinos. If this is feature is important to your employees and customers, you may want to consider another option.

Keurig K-3500 Warranty Information

The Keurig K-3500 commercial coffee brewer is covered by a limited one-year warranty. Keurig requires that you register your brewer through the Keurig website or fill out and return the warranty card enclosed with your brewer to qualify.

If you have a defective brewer, Keurig will either repair or replace it with a new or refurbished brewer (at their own discretion). This warranty does not apply to property damage.

Is The Keurig K-3500 Right for You?

If you're looking for total convenience, the Keurig K-3500 commercial coffee brewer is the machine for you. Its sleek design, high-resolution touchscreen quality, five brew sizes and auto-eject functionality make operation easy as possible for everyone

The K-3500 does have an initial upfront cost of $1900 to $2000 that can be hard for some businesses to rationalize (and this price doesn't include installation costs). If your office has less than 20 people, you may want to consider another option.

If you think the K-3500 is worth the money, your partners at Egyptian can help. We'll help you uncover where the brewer will live in your office, as well as the best installation options, so you can enjoy back-to-back brewing for years to come.
